Just in time for the holidays, Deborah Groover moved into her new mobile home on Friday, Dec. 19, following years of personal loss, storm damage and housing instability.

Deborah’s previous mobile home was impacted by flooding from Hurricane Ian and later Hurricane Milton, creating ongoing challenges and uncertainty. In addition to the storm damage, she experienced personal losses that made rebuilding especially difficult.

With assistance from Transform386’s Homeowner Recovery Program, Deborah was able to secure a safe, permanent mobile home in time for the holidays. She completed the application process, submitted all required eligibility documents, signed the necessary agreements, and worked closely with the program every step of the way to make her new home a reality.

“God bless you. I will never forget this program and its kindness,” Deborah said. “This is my home, and I can’t wait to get started.”

The program helps homeowners affected by the recent hurricanes by providing assistance to eligible applicants. Potential pathways include reimbursement for completed repairs, reconstruction, rehabilitation, buyout and match, or, in Deborah’s case, mobile home replacement.

Now settled into her new home, Deborah is looking ahead to the future with a renewed sense of security. This holiday season, she will celebrate in a place she can finally call home.
